Dentist

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive dental health care to all patients within the limitations of the Clinic’s space, equipment, and support personnel, consistent with COMC’s goals and objectives as defined by the Board of Directors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver the full range of dental services including examinations, assessment, preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Provide local anesthesia prior to administering treatments.
• Perform dental procedures such as cleanings, root canals, surgical extractions, fillings, etc.
• Apply agents to teeth such as sealants.
• Order diagnostic measures such as x-rays, models, etc.
• Educate patients and parents on maintaining proper oral health.
• Develop and communicate treatment plans for dental patients to improve oral hygiene.
• Implement and participate in dental programs consistent with COMC’s goals and objectives.
• Recommend dental supply and equipment purchases to the Dental Director/CEO.
• Maintain detailed, properly documented patient records in the EHR system in keeping with COMC’s medical records policy.
• Supervise the work of dental hygienists and dental assistants to assure compliance with accepted infection control policies.
• Participate in all COMC Quality Improvement policies and activities.
• Attend company meetings and events as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Requirements

Must be currently licensed in Missouri to practice dentistry.

Education and/or Experience

Must have received a D.M.D. or D.D.S. from an accredited dental school.

Language Skills

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and effectively present information to the Dental Director/CEO.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with accounting concepts.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Physical Demands

Includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 35 pounds of weight.

Travel Requirement

Travel to all COMC locations may be required. Employee must have a valid Missouri driver’s license and a motor vehicle available.

Work Environment

Requires knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA and 340B regulations. Confidentiality of patient information is mandatory.
