Dental AssistantProvides chair-side assistance to dental providers in all phases of restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, endodontic, pediatric and periodontic treatment as provided in general dentistry. Has clinic maintenance and record keeping duties.Qualifications:Must have High School diploma or equivalent.Must have completed an Accredited Dental Assisting course or 1 year of dental chairside experience.Dental Assistant National Board Certificate (CDA) preferred but not requiredMust be a self-starter. Able to work without direct supervision.Knowledge of dental instruments and medical/dental terminology.Knowledge of basic computer skillsMust be able to complete Indian Health Service (his) x-ray competency evaluation.Must be able to provide age-specific care to patients of all age levelsMust pay attention to detail and assume responsibility for tasks assigned.Essential Functions:Seat patients in the dental chair, prepares them for treatment, and reviews their dental records.Sterilize, disinfect instruments and dental equipment.Provides post-operative instructions and provides oral health care education.Prepare materials for dental procedures per manufacturers instruction.
