Dental Assistant
A dental assistant is a healthcare professional who directly supports a dentist by preparing patients for procedures, assisting during dental treatments, taking X-rays, sterilizing instruments, maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices, all under the supervision of a dentist. Their primary role is to ensure a smooth and comfortable patient experience during dental procedures while maintaining a clean and sterile work environment. Dental Assistants can work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, doctor's offices, and clinics.
Education/Requirements:
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB)
- High School Education required
