How to Manage Chrome Settings and Permissions

Follow these steps to clear data, manage site exceptions, cookies, and permissions in Chrome:

  1. Clear browsing data:
    1. On your computer, open Chrome.
    2. At the top right, select More Settings .
    3. Click See all site data and permissions .
    4. Select Delete all data .
    5. Choose a time range from the dropdown next to "Time range" (e.g., last hour, last day).
    6. Click Delete .
  2. Manage site exceptions:
    1. Open Chrome and go to Settings .
    2. Enter the website's address in the search bar.
    3. To create an exception, insert (*.) before the domain (e.g., (*.)google.com).
    4. Click Add .
    5. To remove an exception, click Remove next to the site.
  3. Manage cookies:
    1. Open Chrome and go to Settings .
    2. In the address bar, select the cookie settings options:
  • To allow third-party cookies, select the relevant option and turn on Third-party cookies .
  • To block or limit third-party cookies, select the appropriate option and turn off Third-party cookies .
  • Additional privacy options:
    1. In Settings , you can enable or disable related site activity sharing, manage embedded content permissions, and more.

    Important: If you're using a work or school Chromebook, some settings may be restricted. Contact your administrator for assistance.
