⚖️ Now Hiring: Defense Litigation Paralegal
LHH is partnering with a respected law firm in Chicago, Illinois to identify an experienced Defense Litigation Paralegal to support a busy civil litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys managing complex case files, supporting trial preparation, and working closely with attorneys throughout the lifecycle of litigation matters.
Location
Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Compensation: $75,000 - $105,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft and prepare discovery requests and responses
- Review, organize, and summarize medical records
- Prepare medical chronologies and deposition summaries
- Assist with subpoena preparation and document productions
- Track case deadlines and maintain litigation calendars
- Support attorneys with trial, arbitration, and mediation preparation
- Prepare exhibit lists, witness lists, trial notebooks, and presentation materials
- Conduct factual investigations and legal research
- Maintain accurate billing records and time entries
Qualifications
- 5+ years of civil litigation or defense litigation paralegal experience
- Experience with insurance defense litigation preferred
- Strong knowledge of discovery, litigation procedures, and trial preparation
- Experience reviewing medical records and preparing chronologies is highly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology platforms
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
