DEC Instructional Designer

Job Description:
The Digital Education Collaborative (DEC) in the division of Academic Affairs invites applications for an Instructional Designer (FA101).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to design, develop, and enhance high-quality learning experiences across face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments.
• Consult with faculty on instructional design, learning technologies, learning outcomes, assessment, accessibility, and the integration of emerging technologies, including generative AI
• Develop and deliver faculty development trainings, instructional resources, and support materials
• Evaluate, implement, and support instructional technology tools to enhance teaching and student success
• Implement innovative solutions that enhance teaching and learning

This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus.

Requirements:
Required qualifications:

• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or similar field
• Experience with, or knowledge of Generative AI in teaching and learning context
• Experience providing training, technical support, or consultations in a higher ed environment
• Ability to work collaboratively with others, especially higher ed faculty
• Experience with an LMS, Canvas preferred
• Knowledge of instructional design principles
• Ability to communicate technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical experience

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with accessibility policies and technology
• Experience with educational technology tools such as Zoom, PollEverywhere, Ally, Respondus
• Ability to evaluate instructional needs and recommend effective solutions
• Ability to develop effective documentation and training materials

Additional Information:
This is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. The anticipated salary range for this position will be $58,000 to $62,000 annually. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
