Dean of Educational Development and Post-Secondary Pathways

Immediate Supervisor: Building Principal (or designee)

Salary: $59,600 ($61,680 after probationary period)

Niles Community Schools is looking for a dynamic Dean of Educational Development and Post-Secondary Pathways. Highly-effective communication skills and professionalism required for daily interaction with a diverse workforce, student population, building administration and community.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or Equivalent Discipline

Desired

  • Master’s Degree in Education, School Counseling, or College Advising
  • Experience with college readiness programs and student behavior intervention

Performance Responsibilities (non-prioritized):

  • Monitor attendance, behavior, and academic progress of 11th and 12th-grade students to identify students at risk
  • Guide 11th and 12th-grade students through post-secondary planning, including college applications, FAFSA, scholarships, and career exploration
  • Manage the College & Career Center and coordinate campus visits from colleges, military recruiters, and employers
  • Conduct one-on-one and group advising sessions tailored to students’ strengths, interests, and goals
  • Maintain and track students’ Educational Development Plans (EDPs)
  • Promote access to opportunities such as dual enrollment, CTE programs, internships, and job shadowing
  • Leverage tools like Xello and NCAA Eligibility Center to support student planning
  • Build community partnerships that support students’ post-secondary goals
  • Works with counselors/behavior specialists/administrative team and families as the point of contact regarding at-risk students and ensures wrap-around support services are provided as needed
  • Respond to and resolve minor disciplinary incidents; support administrative team with investigations of major ones
