MS SQL Database AdministratorDuration: 12 Months (CTH)Location: Plano, TXJob Overview:Highly proficient at installation and configuration of complex DBMS (distributed, midrange, mainframe) environments, creates and maintains a database, objects and backup/recovery/load scripts.Proficiency at capacity planning, database and SQL tuning.Proficiently troubleshoot complex problems.This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience as MS SQL Database Administrator.Proficiency in installing and configuring complex database management system environments, creating and maintaining databases as well as backup and recovery.Demonstrated ability to implement automated process to improve database system reliability.Skill at troubleshooting complex problems.Background in IT infrastructure, including systems or network administration.Proficient knowledge of programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, SQL, .NET, Perl and TSQL.Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile development methodology.Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals.Hands on experience on database high availability solutions like log-shipping, database mirroring, replication, clustering and AlwaysON.Using PerfMon/Profiler solved low-level SQL Server bottlenecks like deadlocks/long running queries.Proficiency with PowerShell/Python scripting skills.Experience in upgrading SQL Server software to new versions and applying service packs and hot fixes.Proficient or willing to learn cloud database (e.g. Azure, AWS).Certified in Microsoft SQL certification is a plus.
