Day Shift Machine OperatorBongards' Creameries is seeking a Day Shift Machine Operator at our Humboldt facility. This position is focused on operating cheese making equipment on a rotational basis with the goal of a permanent assigned position in one of the four production lines.
Responsibilities include machine operation, basic equipment troubleshooting, availability for multi-line coverage, other duties as assigned.Duties and Responsibilities:Follow instructions (verbal, written) from lead, supervisor or designated personUnderstand and follow Good Manufacturing Practice protocols for PPE, Production and Cleanliness (Handwashing, Uniform, Tools, etc)Learn to operate multiple machines (filler, casting line, wrapper, former, grinder, massman, bander, etc)Able to react quickly to resolve issuesMonitor quality of boxes, pouches, labels and communicate to othersUnwrap barrels, ensure cheese packages are made correctlyAssemble pallets of dry ingredients according to the blend sheet and update ROSS systemOpen cheese packages and place in rework containersCleaning and sanitizing of machines, all work areas after production is finishedKeep work area neat, clean and organizedWork in a safe, efficient manner in a fast paced team environmentOther duties as assignedSkills and Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentExcellent Math, Reading and Writing skillsStrong communication skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlinesAbility to work independently on assigned dutiesAdaptable to sudden changes and willing to learn new skillsKnowledge of HMI screens, computers and PIT is a plusDependable member of a teamAdaptable to work in Cold and Warm environmentsMechanical aptitudeMust adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, other quality guidelinesMust report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacementMust be able to lift up to 55 lbsSchedule:Day Shift 5:30am to 6:00pm Monday – Friday, frequent SaturdaysBenefits:Medical – Prescription Drug – Dental – VisionPaid time off (PTO)401(k) with company matchDisability, life and voluntary insuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramProfit SharingInternal Career OpportunitiesBongards' Creameries is a member owned Coop that has been operating since 1908.
