Knowledge of R, Java is desirableExperience in the development lifecycle, using source code control, automated builds, testing, release managementExperience with SQL (query optimization, schema creation)Comfortable in a Linux or Unix environment (command line)Plusses (You have the experience or want to learn):Experience with large data stores (Columnar databases such as Vertica, ETL, performance challenges)Experience using web frameworks like DjangoExperience with mapreduce frameworks (Hadoop, Hive, Pig) is a huge plusBasic understanding of statistical analyses (e.g., R, Matlab, etc.)
