We're partnering with a technology-driven organisation undergoing a major data transformation and seeking a Databricks Manager to lead enterprise data engineering, analytics, and platform initiatives.
This is a leadership opportunity for someone who combines hands-on Databricks expertise with proven experience building high-performing teams and delivering modern cloud data platforms at scale.
What You'll Do
- Lead and develop a team of Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Platform Specialists
- Own the Databricks platform strategy, roadmap, governance, and operational excellence initiatives
- Drive the design and delivery of scalable Lakehouse solutions supporting analytics, AI, and business intelligence workloads
- Oversee development of batch and real-time data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake
- Partner with business leaders, architects, and engineering teams to define enterprise data solutions
- Establish best practices around data quality, security, platform performance, and cost optimisation
- Champion automation, DevOps, and DataOps practices across the data engineering organisation
- Mentor technical teams and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or cloud data platforms
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing data engineering or Databricks teams
- Strong expertise with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse architecture
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud data solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Deep understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT frameworks, and modern analytics architectures
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships across technical and business functions
- Strong communication, leadership, and project delivery skills
Preferred Experience
- Databricks certifications
- Experience supporting AI/ML initiatives and advanced analytics programmes
- Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with streaming technologies and real-time data processing
- Background working within highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: up to $200,000K
Annual Bonus: 20%
PTO: 20+ Days
