Focusing on database security engineering, the full-time remote IT Security Engineer (Database) will design and implement security controls for various database platforms, monitor for suspicious activity, and support vulnerability remediation to protect sensitive data assets. Key responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain database security controls across multiple database technologies Conduct security architecture reviews and recommend secure configurations prior to production deployment Monitor database environments for unauthorized access attempts and security anomalies Required qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience in database administration, engineering, or security Strong hands-on experience with enterprise database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL Experience implementing database security controls, including encryption and access management Familiarity with cloud database technologies and security best practices in AWS, Azure, or Oracle
