Database Designer/Developer/SrIDEALFORCE has a contract position available immediately for a Database Designer/Developer/Sr to join our customer in Phoenix Arizona. This is an ONSITE position. Only LOCAL CANDIDATES are considered due to the in person interview requirement for this position. Candidates are expected to carry their own laptop to work for this role.The RFR project is an initiative to re-engineer and rewrite an aging legacy application in order to design and develop a modern system architecture that promotes stability, flexibility and scalability. This project is considered critical to the Client due to the substantial business process efficiencies enabled by the Client’s financial systems.The architecture and database design phase of the project just beginning and the project team would like to contract a DBA/Developer resource through the end of the project to assist in the areas of database design, data conversion, database normalization and performance, and application development. The legacy database resides in an Informix Online database system.

The target database platform is Microsoft SQL Server 2014.Job DescriptionThe responsibilities for the DB Designer/Developer will include the following:Design of new target databaseReview and understand system requirements and translate to database entitiesAbility to develop and understand logical and physical database entity relationship diagrams and models.Develop database for usability, performance and normalizationConversion of data from the legacy Informix application to a SQL 2014 databaseDesign, development and implementation of data conversion processes from the legacy system to the new systemComplete documentation of data conversion activities and processesUnderstand the legacy RFR database structure and functionalityUnderstand the new RFR database structure and functionalityMap data elements from legacy system to new systemProvide data scrubbing activities are required which may include pre conversion or post conversion cleanup or bothAssist QA in development of test plans to validate that all data was successfully migratedSecondary:Assist in the development of the application to support a robust and highly performing database.Fine tune the RFR database to ensure production ready performanceMaintain system documentation related to the database architecture and development standardsMentor and provide knowledge transfer to COSC team members who will be supporting the application post production.QualificationsApplication Software Experience:Database designDatabase Entity Relationship Diagraming toolsData conversion and data mapping of large enterprise databasesDatabase ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) tools and methodologiesInformax Dynamic Server Version 7Microsoft SQL Server 2014T-SQL, SSIS or other ETL activitiesStored Procedure developmentPreferred Experience:ORM experience with Entity FrameworkWCF RIA services experiences with custom domain servicesExperience with Visual Studio 2013Experience with .Net 4.0 and AngularJS developmentExperience with Team Foundation ServerExperience with SSRS and SSASPrior experience with systems within the justice and law enforcement communityAdditional Information- "All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines". - All candidates who are authorized to work in US are encouraged to apply. - Candidates must clear the Background check prior to commencing the assignment.THIRD PARTY CANDIDATES:Email your candidate/s resume to pete dot tylor at idealforce.com along with the following details: Rate, Current location and Availability.Disclaimer :The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
