Client is migrating one of its high-usage transactional system from a legacy platform to newer technologies in the cloud and requires a Database Architect with proven experience to:

• Document the “as is” schemas currently in use at Client in SQL Server databases and Oracle databases.
• Document existing data interfaces in the legacy system.
• Document existing downstream impacts of the legacy system.
• Document database process that currently extract the data from the existing system for reporting purposes.
• Create data models and reverse and forward engineer data models in an AWS SQL Server environment.
• Define and document the technical architecture of the new transactional system, including the physical components and their functionality.
• Perform other analysis and documentation tasks as required to facilitate and support this migration project.
• Provide oversight and design of the migration and conversion of legacy data to the new database.
• Create scripts for data conversion and migration from legacy systems to new database platform.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 3 - Data Architect Role
• 5 - Data modeling in SQL Server Enterprise Edition
• 5 - Analyzing and generating technical requirements and design
• 7 - Creating and maintaining data models
• 7 - Database development experience utilizing RDBMS
• 7 - Design a SQL Server database for high usage/high availability transactional system
• 5 - Database tuning techniques
• 7 - Analyzing source databases, source data, source database referential integrity and profiling source data
• 3 - Experience with data mining and archiving
• 7 - Experience with MS SQL Server DBMS
• 3 - Experience with managing RDBMS in AWS
• 5 - Creating source to target mapping database documentation
• 5 - Assist with migrating data from legacy database to new target database

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• 5 - More than one type of RDBMS (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle)
• 5 - Experience with case management or educational systems
• 3 - Experience with REST API Services
• 3 - Experience in Amazon Web Services
