Database & Cloud Systems EngineerMaverc Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Database & Cloud Systems Engineer to support our client through a 12-month contract engagement with strong potential for full-time hire. This role sits at the intersection of data infrastructure, Microsoft Azure (GCC High), cloud compliance, and financial operations, supporting a business environment led by a finance organization with deep public company and audit experience. The selected candidate will work closely with leadership, including the VP of Finance, and must clearly articulate how their technical work supports: • Financial accuracy and reporting integrity • Operational efficiency • Risk reduction and compliance This is a high-visibility, client-facing role where success depends equally on technical expertise and executive communication.Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Management & OptimizationAdminister, maintain, and optimize Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environmentsDesign and implement database structures, indexing strategies, and performance tuningMonitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actionsManage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processesCloud & Azure (GCC High)Support and manage systems within a Microsoft Azure GCC High environmentDeploy, configure, and maintain Azure-based infrastructure supporting database workloadsEnsure alignment with FedRAMP, NIST, and CMMC-aligned requirementsImplement and maintain secure cloud architectures, including encryption, network security, and access controlsCollaborate with security and infrastructure teams on Azure governance, policies, and compliance controlsSystems Integration & Financial Data SupportIntegrate databases with financial systems, reporting platforms, and ERP environmentsSupport data accuracy, reporting workflows, and audit-readinessAssist in maintaining systems that support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
