Database AdministratorRed Arch Solutions is seeking a Database Administrator to join our PRIME contract in San Antonio, Texas. The Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining the integrity, security, and performance of databases, including administering and implementing policies, optimizing performance, and overseeing disaster recovery. This role supports database lifecycle activities, manages various database products (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, SYBASE), and coordinates with engineers on architecture changes.Position Description:Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of database(s)Establish and maintain database user accountsAdminister, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processesEvaluate requirements and recommends available DBMS productsProvide server administration with a variety of database products that include Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASEPerform disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of dataDevelop policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the databasePerform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availabilitySupport data modeling activities by way of prototype database implementationsCoordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineer (DBE)sDirect the monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure and reloading data into a databaseDirect the installation of database management systems, databases, tables and viewsDirects the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies and technologiesLinux experience STRONGLY preferredBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
4+ years of additional Database Admin experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.10+ years' experience as a Database Admin in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.Active TS/SCI with Polygraph #CJThe Red Arch Solutions pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
