Database AdministratorJob Duties:Create, enhance, and coordinate migrations of database schema implementations. Perform code reviews and performance monitoring. Work with upper level Database Administrators to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Travel/relocate to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. for long and short term assignments at client sites.Deliver conceptual, logical and physical data models to find the authoritative source for shared data elements within DOE. Use Erwin Data Modeler tool to connect to existing database and ODS to create graphical representation in the form of Entity Relationships and elicit information. Plan, implement and manage systems initiatives with IT and customer teams. Establish and maintain data technical standards as described in data dictionaries and source to target mapping documents. Provide database performance monitoring, capacity planning and trend forecasting. Document and improve processes, procedures, and best practices to align with industry standards and customer needs. Meet disaster recovery requirements to ensure Business Resumption requirements.

Coordinate with database analysts to get DDL executed and necessary changes to DDL after QA/ UAT process with Business. Perform data management, implementing and supporting SQL Server database. Analyze source databases and create objects with in target systems/databases to support business process. Perform database normalization to qualify data and create reference tables to maintain referential integrity. Create centralized data warehouse using Erwin Data Modeler tool and maintain E/R Models and relations. Monitor and tune databases for performance and concurrency using SSMS tool.Maintain database security compliance and best practices. Support Multi node Real Application Cluster Environment. Support database on platforms RHEL/SOLARIS. Setup Oracle database security environment. Manage databases running on Oracle RAC and Standalone Environments. Responsible for migration of oracle databases from Solaris to Oracle Exadata.

Support Golden Gate and Dataguard Management in replicating data. Implement and configure Dataguard (Active Dataguard) Physical standby and logical standby and Oracle database replication using GoldenGate. Apply Patches on Standalone, Standby databases based on the requirements and Bugs. Maintain production databases with optimal performance. Perform proactive and reactive performance analysis of production databases. Work independently and collaboratively with development support teams to resolve complex issues. Work with Architectural team to ensure performance, availability, integrity and security for all databases. Develop UNIX Shell Scripts for daily and weekly backup jobs. Manage memory structure and storage allocation. Resolve issues with Golden Gate components such as EXTRACT, REPLICAT, TRAIL FILES and Tranlog options. Create user accounts, roles and privileges for Database operations and security maintenance.

Optimize and tune SQL queries using TRACE FILE, TKPROF and EXPLAIN PLAN. Use Data Pump and RMAN as the backup utilities for export and import. Implement scripts for backup of databases and maintenance of archive logs for databases. Monitor databases activities, collect database statistics, create users, groups and profiles for users.Work Location:Jobs located in Farmington Hills, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Various unanticipated work locations throughout the United States; relocation may be required. Will also accept 2 years of experience in the job offered or as a Computer Software Professional in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
