Database Administrator (DBA) – Azure Cloud MigrationWe are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in SQL Server, Azure cloud technologies, and database migration projects to support a large-scale data center to Microsoft Azure migration within a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing enterprise databases, cloud modernization initiatives, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and ensuring secure, high-availability database environments.Responsibilities:Design and execute database migration strategies from on-premises environments to Microsoft AzurePerform database assessment, discovery, and dependency analysisSupport migration of critical applications with minimal downtime and data lossAdminister and maintain SQL Server databases across on-prem and Azure environmentsManage Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and hybrid database platformsPerform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle managementMonitor and optimize database performance, indexing, queries, and resource utilizationImplement backup, recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity strategiesSupport high availability (HA) solutions including Always On Availability GroupsEnsure database security, encryption, access controls, and compliance requirementsDevelop automation scripts using PowerShell, T-SQL, or Azure CLICollaborate with cloud, infrastructure, application, and project teams during migration activitiesCreate and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooksRequired Skills:5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server administrationHands-on experience with Azure database servicesExperience in data center to cloud migration projectsKnowledge of backup/recovery, HA/DR, and performance tuningExperience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed InstanceFamiliarity with PowerShell, T-SQL, or automation toolsExperience working in healthcare environments preferredUnderstanding of HIPAA/HITECH compliance is a plusPreferred Qualifications:Experience supporting healthcare payer systems, claims, enrollment, or data warehouse environmentsAzure certifications preferred (Azure Database Administrator Associate / Azure Solutions Architect)Experience with Always On Availability Groups and cloud modernization initiativesSoft Skills:Strong troubleshooting and analytical skillsExcellent communication and documentation abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong collaboration and stakeholder management skillsPreferred Candidate Background: SQL Server DBA | Azure DBA | Cloud DBA | Database Migration Engineer | Infrastructure DBA | Healthcare DBA
