Role - DBA
Location - Basking Ridge NJ (5 Days a week)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and support PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, backup/recovery, and capacity planning.
- Manage HA/DR, replication, failover, upgrades, and database migrations.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, locks, deadlocks, replication lag, and production incidents.
- Administer PostgreSQL on AWS RDS/Aurora and support cloud migrations.
Required Skills
- 5–8 years of hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, SQL tuning, VACUUM, WAL, MVCC, replication, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, Secrets Manager, and AWS DMS.
- Strong knowledge of backup/recovery, PITR, HA/DR, security, and database monitoring.
- Experience with Linux and Shell/Python scripting.
- Good communication, troubleshooting, and stakeholder-management skills.
