Database AdministratorSummary: The main function of a Database Administrator is to provide database support on a variety of hardware and software platforms and peripherals.Job Responsibilities:Provide database and system on-site supportMonitor, collect statistical information, and provide reporting on capacity and system performanceBased on statistics, make recommendations to maintain and improve capacity and system performanceMonitor the system, and act upon system and application automated alertsPerform diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting of software, o/s, and database issues (ex. correcting installation, configuration, or data problems)Plan and perform software installation, configuration, upgrade and patchingPlan and perform database configuration, maintenance, upgrade and patchingPerform and manage system and database backupsPerform manual switch to redundant system / database components, in case of system failureQualifications:Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field preferred2 + years experience required, team center focusedExperience in providing technical support, covering database administration and operations to include monitoring maintenance capacity, performance monitoring/planning and incident/problem troubleshooting and resolutionStrong knowledge of SQLUnderstanding of Help Desk tools and trouble ticket tracking processesUnderstanding of support agreements and their implied service levelsProven ability to write excellent technical documentationServe as a primary contact for troubleshooting Teamcenter, NX, TcVis, and data structure issues for ME users.Support data movement activities—including imports, exports, translations, and corrections—between global databases, Plants, and vendors.Document and refine data management processes, best practices, and training materials.Collaborate with the larger user community and with suppliersSupport ME participation in global software events by conducting regression testing for Teamcenter/NX/TcVis releases, patches, and updatesAutomate user identity and data storage audit workflows using power automate, powerbi, and/or other tools in our citizen developer toolbox (Databricks/AI, Mendix, etc.)Playing a critical role in defining the future state of business processes and the data pipeline for the virtual factory with enabling a short development life cycle based on a full virtual digital twinHard Skills: experience with Team Center NX, and Siemens related suite of toolsEverforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
