Job Description

  • Install, configure, and maintain SDW operating systems, servers, and IT infrastructure components.
  • Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure SDW remains secure and up to date.
  • Manage system configurations to meet organizational requirements and optimize performance.
  • Monitor system performance using tools and metrics to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
  • Optimize system resources, including CPU, memory, and storage, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Proactively address performance issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Monitor system usage and plan for future capacity needs based on organizational growth.
  • Implement scalable solutions to accommodate increased workloads or user demands.
  • Provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements and upgrades.
  • Create, manage, and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Ensure proper authentication and authorization mechanisms are in place.
  • Address user account issues, such as password resets and access requests.
  • Develop and implement backup strategies to safeguard data and system configurations.
  • Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures to ensure data availability.
  • Minimize downtime during recovery operations and ensure business continuity.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure data and system availability during emergencies.
  • Test and validate recovery procedures to ensure readiness for unexpected events.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business continuity in case of system disruptions.
  • Implement security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems, to protect SDW.
  • Monitor SDW for security threats and vulnerabilities, addressing them proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with DoW, DISA, DCMA standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve system-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary.

Required Minimum Experience

  • 10+ years of overall professional experience in IT or related field.
  • Requires knowledge and expertise in the following: System Installation, Configuration and Maintenance; Monitoring and Performance Optimization; User Account Management; Backup and Recovery; Security and Compliance; Troubleshooting and Incident Management; Documentation and Reporting; Software and Hardware Management; Capacity Planning and Scalability; Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.

Required Clearance

  • Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).

Certifications

  • Relevant certification from nationally recognized technical authority preferred.
  • DoW Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II.
