Fort Worth, TX (onsite) role applying machine learning and statistical methods to support Technical Operations performance and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-business teams to translate needs and challenges into machine learning or statistical problem statements
- Build predictive forecasting systems to model future performance based on known change
- Support data product development using exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and model building
- Source and create datasets, identify key features, and define new features for modeling
- Explain complex experiments, models, and analytics outputs to partners in a simple and actionable manner
- Communicate directly with airport and Technical Operations leaders
- Design and manage feature-based datasets in Azure to streamline ML and AI
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Master’s/PhD degree, or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of equivalent practical experience in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering)
- Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, Java) and software engineering best practices (testing and version control)
- Working knowledge of machine learning libraries
- Practical experience with data extraction, cleaning, and analysis
- Deep knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques
- Ability to complete technical interviews and take-home tests covering statistics, machine learning, SQL, Python, PySpark, and MLOps
- Experience with SQL and data visualization
- Practical experience designing, building, and deploying machine learning models
- Experience working in a consulting role
- Airline industry domain knowledge is a plus
- Deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, recommender systems, and experimentation (A/B testing) are a plus
- Cloud platform and parallel processing experience is a plus
- Experience applying data science techniques including: Forecasting, Recommendation Systems, A/B Testing, Logistics Optimization, Churn Analysis, Segmentation Analysis, and Deep Learning
- Experience with Databricks, PySpark/Spark, Snowflake, dbt, and Azure Cloud
- Demonstrated aptitude for logical analysis, problem identification, and problem solving
- Ability to view data from multiple angles to improve feature engineering
- Ability to collaborate on a diverse team
- Ability to solve complex problems in a constrained, dynamic environment
- Ability to leverage airline business understanding and commercial goals to drive results and innovative solutions
