VS Techsystems is seeking a Data Scientist to support predictive analytics and data-driven decision-making in a hybrid role based in Saint Peters, MO. This position focuses on building and deploying machine learning models, analyzing large datasets, and communicating insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Role Summary

The Data Scientist role requires 3+ years of experience developing predictive models, performing statistical analysis, and delivering actionable business insights. Work includes machine learning, exploratory data analysis, programming, and experience in cloud-based environments.

Salary

USD 110,030 - 132,509 per year

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models for business use cases.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and perform feature engineering .
  • Build predictive and classification models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders.
  • Design and implement A/B testing frameworks and evaluate model performance.
  • Create dashboards and reports using visualization tools.
  • Optimize data pipelines and automate analytical workflows.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering , or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a related role.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn) and/or R .
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases .
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms including Regression , Classification , Clustering , Time Series Forecasting , and Recommendation Systems .
  • Knowledge of statistics, probability, and hypothesis testing .
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS , Azure , or Google Cloud Platform .
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop (preferred).
  • Experience using Git and CI/CD practices.
  • Deep learning framework experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • NLP, Computer Vision, or Generative AI experience.
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering.
  • Knowledge of MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or SageMaker.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) , vector databases, and LLM application development.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, Databricks, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
