As a data scientist at Booz Allen, you’ll turn complex data sets into actionable insights that solve global challenges. Working with clients across private and public sectors—from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence—you’ll generate predictive models, develop algorithms, and design data visualizations that help stakeholders make informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Understand client questions and needs and analyze their data-rich environments.
- Develop algorithms and systems, using appropriate tools and frameworks to transform disparate data points into actionable insights.
- Provide deep interpretations of data and deliver recommendations that support decision-making.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining.
- 2+ years of experience utilizing Python for data analysis.
- Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources.
- Experience developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualizing targeted data sources.
- Experience with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Natural Language Processing.
- Knowledge of simulation techniques such as discrete event simulation, Monte Carlo simulation, and agent-based modeling.
- Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Skills
- 2+ years of experience developing algorithms with R, SAS, SQL, or NoSQL.
- 2+ years of experience with distributed data and computing tools, including Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, or MySQL.
- 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning, AI, or NLP.
- Experience with visualization packages, including Contour, Vertex, Workshop, or Grafana.
- Experience with U.S. Army or DoW datasets.
- Master’s degree.
Clearances
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including location, education, skills, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The posting will close within 90 days from the posting date. Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible for the benefit programs.
Work Model
- Remote: If the position is listed as remote, occasional on‑site work may be required.
- Hybrid: If the position is listed as hybrid, you are expected to work frequently from a Booz Allen facility and may need to visit a customer facility.
- Onsite: If the position is listed as onsite, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
