Data Scientist III – CBRNE Mission Support

Location: Chantilly, VA (100% on-site, 5 days/week)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

About the Opportunity

Join a mission-critical team supporting Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) initiatives for a high-impact client in the national security space. This role puts your data science expertise to work on real-world science and technology (S&T) challenges that directly support the intelligence and defense community.

What You'll Do

• Collect, organize, and analyze technical information from multiple sources to support fast-paced, mission-critical tasks
• Design and implement machine learning and data engineering solutions for advanced S&T missions
• Apply and improve data collection/analysis techniques to solve unique mission challenges
• Independently propose and execute creative solutions — including identifying new data sources and exploitation techniques
• Deliver polished, near-final work products requiring minimal revision
• Lead tasks independently while collaborating across a multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed team
• Proactively manage deadlines and expectations in an agile, fast-moving environment

What You Bring

• Experience collecting, assembling, interpreting, and analyzing multi-source data (S&T, network, OSINT, databases) to produce actionable insights
• Hands-on experience applying machine learning, statistics, and/or data mining techniques
• Experience automating data pipelines, transformation processes, and/or repositories
• Experience assessing and technically reporting on emerging technologies (e.g., TRL, CTE evaluations)
• Comfort working with diverse media and advanced S&T datasets
• Background in national security, defense, and/or the intelligence community
• Genuine curiosity for new technical domains and S&T mission areas

Education & Experience

• BS + 8 years relevant experience, or
• MS + 5 years relevant experience, or
• PhD + 3 years relevant experience
• (Equivalent combination of education/experience in a relevant field considered)

Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph — no exceptions, this cannot be sponsored or upgraded post-hire.
