Oscar Health is seeking a Data Scientist I to join the Data team. This hybrid role focuses on building reliable data foundations, developing and validating analytical and statistical models, and performing data quality checks that support business decision-making.
Role Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and support data pipelines to deliver reliable, accurate, and timely data.
- Assist with testing, validation, and refinement of statistical or analytical models.
- Conduct advanced analytical work, including validation checks on datasets and model outputs.
- Detect data quality issues, anomalies, or inconsistencies and contribute to corrective solutions.
- Collaborate with data leaders and cross-functional business partners to understand data needs and improve processes.
- Partner with business, engineering, product, and data stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
- Write clear, maintainable analytical code and documentation.
- Follow established data science standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field or 1+ year of relevant professional experience.
- 1+ years of experience working with SQL or intermediate Python (for example, working with multiple data sources).
- 1+ years of experience building data models and using more advanced analytics methods, including conducting in-depth analysis beyond simple descriptive analysis.

Location and Work Schedule
This is a hybrid position based in the New York City office, Los Angeles Office, or Tempe Office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in-office per week . Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events, while the other two office days are flexible to support your schedule.
Compensation
The base pay for this role is $119,200 to $156,450 per year .
