The Data Scientist, Finance role at Ramp Financial focuses on building models and end-to-end data systems that turn raw information into finance-focused insights. The position partners with Finance and data engineering teams to deliver data products that can inform and influence business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop full stack solutions, including building models that consume, transform, and expose data to stakeholders and production systems
- Advance a culture of experimental design by driving a testing agenda and sharing best practices
- Contribute to the Data team’s scalability by influencing processes, tools, and systems that support better decision‑making
- Collaborate with Finance teams such as GTM Finance and StratFin to develop financial insights and influence business decisions
- Partner with data engineering teams to capture, move, store, and transform raw data into actionable insights, and work with business teams to apply those insights
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience in Data Science, Software Engineering, or Finance
- Strong AI proficiency to adopt new skills and subject matter quickly
- Proven record of shipping high quality products and features at scale
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, continuously improving start-up environment using iterative technical solutions
- Familiarity with financial metrics and processes (e.g., contribution profit, financial statements, monthly close) and/or B2B enterprise sales cycle metrics and processes
- Strong knowledge of SQL (preferably Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery) and the ability to write efficient SQL queries

Nice-to-Haves

Compensation
- Target base salary: USD 137,120 - 297,330 for SF/NY
