Data Scientist

This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Data Management and Analytics Division. As a Data Scientist, you will independently develop research studies, analyses, and projects that affect the programs and policies of the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS) and other government agencies, both in its immediate context as well as in the context of future needs and risks. ..

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience for this position includes:

• Applying advanced statistical, algorithmic, or machine learning techniques to analyze large and complex datasets and produce insights that inform program decisions; AND


• Designing, developing, and validating data models, automated processes, or analytical tools that detect anomalies, identify trends, or enhance program integrity; AND


• Communicating technical findings to nontechnical audiences through clear visualizations, reports, and briefings that support executives, program teams, or cross agency partners.
