Data Scientist, AWS Support Capacity Planning

We are searching for a Data Scientist to join AWS Support’s Capacity Planning team. In this role you will build contact and volume forecasting models, uncover insights, and develop optimization solutions that drive operational efficiency and cost savings. You will collaborate with data engineering, tooling, operations, training, workforce management, and finance teams to influence long‑term strategy across the support network.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage forecasting and optimization projects for contact and volume.
- Identify data requirements and develop statistically grounded methodologies and tools.
- Drive end‑to‑end model development in Python or R.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders and influence business decisions.
- Partner with development and operations teams to deploy production models.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of data science experience.
- 3+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab).
- 3+ years of experience with machine learning/statistical modeling, data analysis tools and techniques, and tuning model performance.
- Experience application of theoretical models in an applied environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company.

- USA, TX, Dallas – $136,000.00 – $184,000.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle – $136,000.00 – $184,000.00 USD annually
