Data Quality SpecialistThe Data Quality Specialist will maintain data for clients and families that have accessed the program. The following duties may be handled in conjunction with Funder staff, and Program staff where applicable.Verifies, corrects and enters participant information into centralized database;Documentation Review – Conducts file documentation review at least weekly. Ensures that all documentation is in order including ensuring documents are filled out correctly, complete, and signed.

This ensures quality assurance at the program level.Monitors database reports to assure consistency with hardcopy records and other logsRuns regular progress reports, and other reports as required by Program Manager; creates customized reports to support shelter management and to provide other needed information on requestCoordinates with Case Managers and Intake staff to ensure data intake requirements are metTrains staff on database and answers questions relating to the systemSupports any technical and reporting issues for the Program;Assists with program funder audits and monitoring visits;Attends conferences and regular meetings with database contractors and Funder staffOversees the privacy/confidentiality notification processes to meet regulatory guidelinesExports data and upload to Funder repository as directedOther duties as may be required to support the program with database and information system expertise.Ability to work and deal with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs, which may include clients with homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration, and other challenges.Services for this position must be provided on-site. As a result, the position requires incumbents to report to work on-site each day of active employment.Documentation Review – Conducts file documentation review at least weekly. This ensures quality assurance at the program level.Monitors accuracy of system reports, verifies database matches hard copy records.Creates reports to support Program Manager, shelter management and case managersCoordinates with Case Managers and Intake workers to ensure data entry is accurate and timelyTrains program staff on HMIS, subject matter expert for staffSupports any technical and reporting issues for Program; Assists with program funder audits and monitoring visits; Attends conferences and regular meetings with database contractors and FunderExports data and upload to Funder repository monthlyOversees the privacy/confidentiality notification processes to meet regulatory guidelinesOther duties as required (subject to change based on the needs of the organization).Occasionally assist with special events and public functionsAs service providers to the underprivileged and vulnerable in our community, all employees are considered Mandated Reporters, and must report any instance of physical or sexual abuse to proper authorities.QualificationsRequirements:Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verificationsAbility to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs which may include clients with homelessness, mental-illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration and other challenges.Education:High School Diploma or equivalentExperience:1-year experience operating/maintaining databasePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree preferredU.S. Veteran preferred.Familiarity with HMIS, Adsystech, and/or Clarity programsExperience working with veterans, people in recovery and/or homelessness individualsBilingual preferred (English and Spanish)Volunteers of America is an Equal Opportunity employer.
