Data ModelerLocation: Chicago, IL (Onsite)Exp: 10+ yearsMust have: Experience in Insurance Industry, preferably in Property and Casualty Insurance (P&C).Key requirements:8+ years of data modelling (conceptual, logical, dimensional)Strong P&C Insurance domain experienceTools: ERWIN, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Data Lake & ETL/EDW experienceJob Description:The Data Modeler role works with stakeholders across technology and product teams to build the data model for the enterprise data warehouse and analytics needs across areas such areas as Underwriting, Claims, Finance, etc.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Lead design discussions and create conceptual and logical data models for the Enterprise Data WarehouseManage and maintain data models and define reporting strategiesPerform data quality analysis and propose solutions to identified issuesGuide product teams in creating physical data model designs and data dictionariesReview design adherence to ensure standards and best practices are followedFacilitate discussions to understand data sources and establish systems of recordCreate information architecture roadmaps with current and future state data flowsInteract with stakeholders across diverse teams, both IT and businessInterprets model results and identifies potential model errors, such as overfittingReporting Relationship: Typically Reports to System Architect or aboveSkills, Knowledge & Abilities:8+ years of data modeling experience with expertise in relational and/or dimensional analysisExperience in Insurance Industry, preferably in Property and Casualty InsuranceDeep understanding of data modeling principles and architecture conceptsKnowledge of different database platforms (relational and NoSQL)Experience with enterprise data modeling tools such as ERWIN3+ years of experience in a data lake environmentExperience with database technologies such as GCP Big Query, PostgreSQL, IICS, Composer, Github etc.Understanding of ETL processes to load large data warehousesAbility to work as an individual contributorStrong communication and collaborative skills to work with agile teams in articulating the model and guiding the developmentAdvanced analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills to effectively resolve complex situations and issuesEducation & Experience:Master's degree or equivalent work experience.Typically a minimum of eight years of related work experience.
