Data Management SpecialistLocation: Birmingham, ALJob Type: Full-TimeContract- 3 yearsClient- Southern CompanyJob Summary:We are seeking a Data Management Specialist to support and maintain our Autodesk Vault data infrastructure, ensuring optimal file management and version control across engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering data systems and possess hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk Vault. This role will serve as the liaison between the Vault database team and Civil 3D subject matter experts.Key Responsibilities:Serve as primary liaison between Autodesk Vault database administration and Civil 3D subject matter expertsTroubleshoot and resolve Vault-related issues (e.g., file check-in/check-out errors, version conflicts)Manage and maintain the Autodesk Vault environment, including user accounts, roles, and permissionsDevelop and implement efficient file management workflows and lifecycle processes in VaultSupport integration of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Vault to streamline design and project collaborationAssist with Vault upgrades, patching, and system performance testingProvide training and onboarding to users on Vault best practices, standards, and workflowsCollaborate with engineers, CAD designers, and IT staff to optimize data management processesCreate and maintain documentation for support procedures and troubleshootingParticipate in periodic office and project coordination meetingsRequired Qualifications:Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience3+ years of hands-on experience with Autodesk Vault and AutoCADFamiliarity with Civil 3D is a plusUnderstanding of engineering data management, version control, and CAD file structuresStrong communication skills (written and verbal)Highly organized, task-oriented, and self-motivatedAbility to work independently and collaboratively with technical teamsFamiliarity with Windows Server environments and SQL databases is a plusWork Environment:Office-based with flexibility for hybrid work arrangementsOccasional participation in internal meetings and training sessions
