To support mission requirements for a DoD customer, the full-time Data Governance & Metadata Scientist will establish and maintain metadata governance frameworks, develop automated metadata tagging processes, and implement data governance workflows while working remotely. Key responsibilities Establish and maintain metadata governance frameworks to ensure compliance with DoD data management policies Develop automated metadata tagging processes to enhance data discoverability and lineage tracking Implement and manage data governance workflows, integrating with OpenLineage, Unity Catalog, and GIS metadata standards Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, GIS, or a related field, or five years of equivalent experience in data governance Proficiency in metadata management, data lineage tracking, and governance best practices Expertise in geospatial data standards and compliance with DoD metadata policies Experience implementing metadata governance frameworks in cloud-based environments Knowledge of tools such as OpenLineage or Apache Atlas for metadata and data lineage management
