Supporting the National Training and Support Program (NTSP) Quality and Data Informatics initiative, the full-time Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to enhance healthcare analytics for the Department of Veterans Affairs, working in a complex, multi-source healthcare data environment. Key responsibilities Design, build, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for cloud-based data environments Implement patient-matching and record-linkage logic to ensure accurate and deduplicated Veteran data across various systems Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data engineering solutions, including Power BI report development Required qualifications 8+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, including ETL/ELT pipeline design and cloud environments BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or 13+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree Prior experience supporting federal agency programs, preferably within the Department of Veterans Affairs Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Position of Public Trust clearance Demonstrated proficiency in SQL or Spark SQL for data transformation and querying
