Senior Data EngineerAscension Technologies is looking for a senior data engineer with expertise in GCP, Scala, Spark, and Python. This position is 100% remote in CST, or available in Chicago, Austin, or St Louis offices.The data engineer must have considerable expertise in data warehousing and proven coding skills with Python, Scala, SQL, and Spark languages.
The role involves implementing enterprise cloud data architecture designs and working closely with the scrum team and internal business partners to identify, evaluate, design, and implement large scale data solutions.Desired work experience includes proficiency in multiple programming languages, frameworks, domains, and tools, with a strong background in Linux/Unix, Hadoop, cloud platforms, web services, APIs, and technical documentation. The candidate should have experience with gcp platform development tools, API orchestration, Apache packages, hybrid cloud architectures, data acquisition pipelines, metadata extraction, and quality control metrics data collection.Responsibilities include working on problems of diverse scope and complexity, assisting senior professionals in determining methods and procedures, leading projects, and effectively communicating technical information to various audiences.
The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to analyze complex data sets, and adherence to security policies.
