Data EngineerOur client, a top tier Management & Strategy Consulting firm is searching for an experienced Data Engineer to support our data infrastructure and pipelines, ensuring seamless data integration and transformation across our systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with our data science, analytics, and IT teams to deliver reliable data solutions and contribute to the ongoing digital transformation of our organization.Key Responsibilities:Data Pipeline Development and Maintenance: Design, build, and optimize data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various data sources into our data warehouse or data lakes. Maintain and troubleshoot data flows, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and availability.Data Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and integrate data from diverse sources (e.g., databases, APIs, external data sets).
Design data models to meet the needs of our data science and analytics teams, enabling scalable and efficient data access.Database and Infrastructure Management: Develop and maintain database schemas and structures to support efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing. Work with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) to build and scale data infrastructure in a secure and cost-effective manner.Data Transformation and Quality Assurance: Implement data validation and transformation routines to ensure high data quality. Perform data cleansing, enrichment, and validation as needed to support analysis and business requirements.Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver relevant data solutions.
Document data processes, schemas, and pipeline architecture for easy reference and knowledge sharing within the team.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in a contract capacity.Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, DBT).Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related tools (e.g. Snowflake).Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java for data processing.Understanding of data modelling concepts and database management.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Preferred Skills:Experience with integration tools such as Cleo and KeboolaKnowledge of data security and data governance best practices.Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
