Data Engineer LeadLocation: Charlotte, NC, USMinimum ten (10) years technical experience in each of the following:Design proof of technology using AWS platform and services for various client requirements and demonstrate themTake part in software and architectural development activitiesEnjoy a healthy technical debate but know how to collaboratively solve problems that move everyone forwardMentor team member during design, development, testing & production fixDevelop MVP user stories (re-usable components/API's / UI / mock stubs etc.)Support backlog creation, prioritization, and story mappingSupport in technical design and solutioningAbility to work across tiers – UI development, APIs, databases (basic developer level tasks)Ability to utilize DevOps CI/CD pipeline, create/configure build and deploy jobsResponsible for assigned task delivery and quality and knowledge transfer through daily pairing with Duke team membersWorks well within tight deadlines (able to prioritize)Required skills/qualifications:Key technology skill set – AWS Services (AWS platform and services knowledge including AWS Lambda, API Gateway) + Data Skills -Glue, Informatica/Kafka/AWS Data flow Data Engineer with Informatica knowledge)Advantage having additional technology skill set – Kafka, Spark, MongoDB/DynamoDB/Aurora3+ years of experience in cloud development (preferably 5-7 yrs but may not have all been in AWS)Python and Terraform skills – additional advantagesMotivated and energetic engineers who are passionate about software modernizationMust be able to clearly communicate with team members and leadershipRequired skills: AWS (lambda) + KAFKA with Java or Flink java APIsNice to have: ECS/EKS, and at least Solution Architect Associate, Developer, or Data Specialty certification.
