Data Center TechnicianThe Data Center Technician is responsible for ensuring successful installation and maintenance of Client Infrastructure as well as on-going administration of all Data Center, MDF and IDF equipment and support systems. The Data Center Technician is a highly detail-oriented and organized individual with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.Key Areas of Responsibility:Install and maintain IT Infrastructure such as switches, servers and related products.Install, support and maintain UPS and Rack Power Systems.Install and maintain campus wiringCoordinate with vendors as required to maintain systems.Ensure proper patch levels on supported hardware and software.Assist in maintaining technical architecture documentation for Client server infrastructure.Other ResponsibilitiesSupport standards, security policies, practices, and guidelines for Client infrastructure.Install new equipment as required using Client best practicesMaintaining Client server roomsMaintaining accuracy of the objects in monitoring and asset management toolsWork off hours and weekends as dictated by business need.Lift up to 60 pounds with or without assistance on occasion.20% travel.The information in this position description is intended to convey information about the key responsibilities and requirements of the position. Responsibilities are subject to change.Experience:Capable of independently running and terminating copper and fiber within Data CentersExperience with Asset and Infrastructure Change Management processesAbility to conduct asset tagging, labeling and trackingExperience surveying data centers and inventorying equipmentExperience participating in Audit and Compliance activates and reporting for Data CentersQualifications:Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.3 years IT Data Center experienceRequired Skills: Change management Additional Skills: Business Analyst
