Data Center Technician – Cable InfrastructureThe Data Center Technician – Cable Infrastructure supports day-to-day data center operations with a primary focus on cable pulling and pathway installation. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role responsible for installing structured cabling in accordance with data center standards, safety requirements, and project specifications. The technician will work in both active and new data center environments where organization and attention to detail are critical.Cable Pulling & Pathway Installation (Primary Focus)Pull copper and fiber optic cabling through overhead and underfloor pathwaysSupport large-scale cable pulls in live and construction data hallsInstall and work within cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, and conduit systemsRoute, bundle, and secure cabling per drawings and data center standardsMaintain proper bend radius, separation, and cable management practicesInstallation SupportAssist with cable routing and dressing in racks and cabinetsSupport senior technicians and installers during installationsIdentify and report damaged cable, pathway issues, or site constraintsQuality & HousekeepingMaintain clean, organized work areas at all timesAssist with basic labeling and documentationEnsure all work meets data center quality and appearance standardsSafety & ComplianceFollow all site safety rules, OSHA standards, and company policiesUse PPE and proper lifting techniques during cable pullsParticipate in daily safety briefings and toolbox talksRequired Qualifications1–3 years of experience in data centers, low-voltage, or commercial construction (or strong willingness to learn)Experience with or exposure to cable pulling in commercial or industrial environmentsAbility to work on ladders, lifts, and overhead tray systemsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasksPreferred QualificationsData center experience strongly preferredFamiliarity with copper and fiber optic cablingOSHA 10 certificationBICSI Installer Level I or higher is a plusWork Environment & Physical RequirementsPhysically demanding role with frequent bending, lifting, and overhead workActive data center and construction environmentsMay require night shifts, weekend work, or extended hours based on project needs
