Data Center Technician position involves in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair as well as participating in an on-call rotation. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running.

We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Work schedule may not be a standard work week. Specific days and hours may vary depending on specific site and/or schedule needs.Key job responsibilities include performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, and carrying out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to the overall availability of AWS services. You will also serve as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors. Additionally, you will perform on-call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities. You will contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues and help to interview, train, and onboard new team members.Physical requirements include lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds each, working in cramped and/or elevated locations, bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day, ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation, and working in an industrial environment.

Work in an industrial environment includes work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts). This role supports data centers in various operational stages. The position may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until your designated site becomes fully operational.Essential requirements include the ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed, willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational, and candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs.
