Data Center TechnicianOur client is seeking Data Center Support Technicians to support engineering operations across multiple Maryland facilities. These positions are designed to provide operational support to existing engineering teams in data center and critical infrastructure environments.These are not advanced troubleshooting or heavy repair roles. The primary focus is:Site monitoringAlarm response and escalationFacility roundsVendor/contractor escortingSupporting on-site engineersAssisting with basic PMs alongside senior engineersResponding to incidents and contacting on-call personnel as neededCandidates should have basic familiarity with data center infrastructure and strong mechanical aptitude, but are not expected to independently diagnose major electrical or HVAC failures.ResponsibilitiesMonitor facility systems and respond to alarms/incidentsEscalate issues to on-call engineers and leadership as neededConduct facility and equipment roundsEscort vendors, contractors, and visitors through secure environmentsSupport engineering staff with daily operational activitiesAssist with preventive maintenance alongside senior engineersFollow documented SOPs and response proceduresMaintain professionalism in client-facing environmentsSupport shift coverage for PTO, vacations, and operational needsRequirementsExperience in data centers, facilities maintenance, engineering support, or related environmentsStrong mechanical aptitudeBasic understanding of: UPS systemsMechanical/electrical infrastructureAlarm escalation proceduresAbility to follow SOPs and escalation processesProfessional communication and presentationAbility to work flexible schedules after trainingComfortable working in 24/7 operational environmentsPreferred ExperienceData center operationsCritical facilities or mission critical facilitiesCommercial facilities maintenanceElectrical or mechanical systems exposureFacilities engineering supportSite Details:Baltimore (100 E Pratt Street):Class A commercial office building with critical systemsMore client-facing/high-visibility environmentStrong emphasis on professionalism and presentationNot a fully generator-backed data centerOwings Mills (4525 Painters Mill Road):True 24/7 operational data centerFully generator-backed infrastructureMay share candidate pool with Baltimore due to proximityHagerstown (17415 Progress Way):True 24/7 operational data centerFully generator-backed infrastructure2 openings availableApproximately 1 hour from Baltimore, likely requiring local candidatesCandidate FAQ / Good to KnowWill I be expected to repair major systems?No.

Major repairs and advanced troubleshooting are handled by vendors and senior engineers.Will I work alone?Generally no. Most work is performed alongside another engineer. Limited solo coverage may occur after training with on-call support available.Will training be provided?Yes.
