Diploma with applicable experienceSystems/Software proficiencies: Microsoft Office Suite, Brady Work StationCertifications/Licenses: CCNA preferred, CCNP preferredTop Must have Skills: Good communication, good customer service skills, good work ethic, good organization, attention to detail, ability to follow upTop Nice to have Skills: Familiarization with multiple network platforms and equipmentInterview Process: 1st round phone interview, 2nd round virtual interview (Teams)Job Description:Data Center IT TechnicianJob Summary: This role provides on-site support for the provision and maintenance of Client Information Technology (IT) services within the assigned Data Center environment. Serves as the first responder to investigate any issues or concerns relating to the Clients (IT) Infrastructure.

Activities typically include conducting fault diagnostics/rectifying hardware failures and network channel connectivity; installing, relocating, and decommissioning of Client IT equipment (servers, switches, routers etc.); cable installation, hardware upgrades, and replacing failed components; and overall general maintenance & housekeeping of the Client IT services.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform hardware installations (rack / stack) and cable installations (routing, terminating, structured cabling), including troubleshooting and testing. Also, perform hardware decommissions and cable removal.Work with Client on IT asset redundant power requirements with appropriate facilities staff to ensure proper load balance and fail-over capacity to avoid cascading failures.Prepare and coordinate incoming/outgoing shipments. Compare packing lists with purchase details to ensure accurate make, model, and quantities are received and processed.Perform remote hands support (e.g.

power cycles, physical environment, and cabling inspections, swap out failed components, hardware upgrades, testing of copper and fiber cables, handling storage media, and enter troubleshooting commands).Escort 3rd parties requiring Data Center access for approved activities and ensure their compliance with Client SLA standards.Carry out daily housekeeping checks of the White Space locations, and record findings.Support Service Management and related processes (e.g., Service Request, Incident, Change) by creating, updating, approving, and closing associated assigned tickets within Client and DCS systems.Ensure that Risk Assessments are always prepared and used for all tasks undertaken -- completing safe working practices.Supervisory Responsibilities: No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training. May coordinate work and assign tasks.Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED required, associate's degree preferred.

2-4 years of experience in computer science, Management Information Systems, business management or a related field. Accredited training in the installation of copper and fiber structured cabling systems, preferred. Previous experience of using Remedy, DCIM tools.
