We are looking for a dedicated Safety Manager to join a firm specializing in critical infrastructure and data center operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing on-site safety protocols, ensuring regulatory adherence, mitigating potential risks, facilitating educational safety sessions, and verifying that all personnel and contractors operate in alignment with established safety standards.
Core Duties
- Perform routine site walkthroughs and safety assessments to help maintain a secure environment for the entire team.
- Facilitate safety onboarding sessions, toolbox meetings, and mandatory training programs.
- Evaluate Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and pre-task documentation.
- Oversee the adherence to safety protocols by both internal staff and third-party contractors.
- Detect hazardous situations and verify that necessary remediation steps are taken to improve overall site safety.
- Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and near-miss events, ensuring all documentation is finalized.
- Manage OSHA logs, training files, and essential safety paperwork.
- Engage in project-related meetings, safety audits, and performance reviews.
- Uphold standards regarding personal protective equipment (PPE), fall prevention, electrical safety, and machinery usage.
- Utilize stop-work authority to prevent injuries and protect the team when significant hazards are present.
Required Qualifications
- Between two and four years of professional experience in construction safety.
- An Associate degree focused on safety, construction management, or a related discipline.
- Possession of an OSHA 30 Construction certification.
- Completion of the OSHA 510 course.
- Active OSHA 500 Construction Trainer certification.
- Proven background working within data centers or mission-critical environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA construction regulations and typical site-specific risks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead inspections, deliver orientations, and perform incident analysis to ensure high safety standards.
- Excellent capabilities in verbal communication, project organization, and administrative documentation.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED is considered a plus.
- Competency in using Microsoft Office software.
- Requirement to reside within the local project area.
