Data Center Operation EngineerThis role is responsible for supporting the management, operations, and evolution of corporate datacenters. The position involves monitoring equipment systems, developing and implementing plans for center upgrades and migrations, and maintaining the physical infrastructure.

The role requires constant vigil over systems by monitoring key center metrics to ensure reliability and performance.Key ResponsibilitiesWrite, review, and approve methods of procedures (MOPs), and ensure they are followed.Enter Network Change Controls in the NCC system per network requirements.Maintain and provide oversight of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and building automation systems (BAS/BMS).Handle vendor power installation, operation, and maintenance.Monitor and maintain data center physical hardware and cabling, and keep an inventory of equipment and spares.Maintain electrical panel schedules in the data center.Perform financial tasks related to Data Center activity.Track equipment inventory and physical infrastructure, identifying deficits or possible failures.Coordinate and track vendors performing installation, operation, and maintenance.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or two or more years of work experience.Experience: Four or more years of relevant work experience, which may include military experience.General: Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and be on call.Preferred QualificationsData Center Operations Management Certifications such as CDCMP, CDCP, CCENT, CCNA, or CCNP.Training in areas such as BAS/BMS Systems Software, HVAC Systems, data networking, wireless technologies, operating systems, or power distribution.Knowledge of data transmission facilities such as OC192, OC48, T3, T1, 1G/10G native Ethernet, or SONET.Knowledge of data networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSI, OSPF, BGP, or MPLS.Familiarity with test tools such as Protocol Analysis, Packet Capture, Wireshark, NetScout, or Fluke.General knowledge in the use of electronic test equipment and knowledge of the National Electrical Code.Experience with DC and AC power systems, including UPS systems and branch circuit installation.Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
