As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Center Facilities Technician to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.The Data Center Facilities Technician provides a working level of data center knowledge and is responsible for the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the data center electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire life safety systems.
The Data Center Facilities Technician maintains and follows the processes that maximize customer uptime in the most cost-effective way. Ensures that data center problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services, and that internal customer demands are met. Level I and II, will possess basic and working knowledge respectively, whereas Level III will possess expert knowledge.Primary Duties within varied scope of work and client expectations will range from:Develops creative approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and implements new strategies for Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Life Safety systemsTests performance of electromechanical assemblies and electronic volt metersReads blueprints, schematics, diagrams or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of processesInspects equipment for defects, leaks, and potential issuesInstalls electrical/electronic parts and hardware in housings/assemblies with hand toolsAligns, fits or assembles component parts using hand/power toolsOperates, monitors, maintains, and responds to abnormal conditions in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Life Safety, Security Systems, Building Monitoring Systems, and Control systemsAnalyzes systems to ensure best practice for internal/external customersProvides feedback on effectiveness of existing standards and processesWorks with contractors and consultants to review quality assurance for all system expansions, corrections, and upgradesCollaborates on the tracking and completing aggressive preventive and predictive maintenance programsCollaborates on determining maintenance requirements for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety systems, and security systemsProvides smart/remote hands assistance within specified SLAMoves/Adds/Changes hardware install including labeling, power connectivity, and network cable connectivityAdditional Accountabilities:100% completion of documentation, notification, escalation, tracking and follow up of all incidents and requests100% accurate and timely submission of timesheet documentation in Field Service100% fulfillment of contractual expectations as defined by Client SOW specific to scheduled service delivery and revenue expectations100% completion of required Talent LMS based training courses as assigned100% adherence to Salute Mission Critical safety standards and best practices100% adherence to client security/privacy practices and expectationsLevel III Additional Accountabilities:Tracking and trending MEP system and equipment operational characteristicsCollaborates with fit-outs, system expansions, corrections, upgrades, and equipment commissioningCollaborates with tracking annual budgetsRelays the status of planned maintenance programsRequired to attend certain high-level meetings and take notes and action items accordinglyServe in a technical writing capacity regarding the creation, review, and approval of procedures for operations, preventive/corrective maintenance activities, and EOPsRequired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience for Success for varied Client SO W:Education/Experience backgroundLevel I- Associates Degree or minimum of 2 years' experience in electrical/mechanical industryLevel 2- Associates Degree or minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical/mechanical industryLevel 3- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical/mechanical industryPossess understanding of mechanical, electrical, fire life safety systems, LAN/wireless network systems used in a data centerAbility to process Hands/Eye requests as required (i.e.
