We’re partnering with a leading engineering consultancy in the U.S. to hire an experienced Data Centre Commissioning Engineer!
Supported by the firm’s focus on delivering complex, high-performance infrastructure projects, you will oversee the commissioning of all mechanical, electrical and controls systems with full ownership of the quality & budget of the project.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical and controls systems in data centre projects, ensuring full functionality and operational readiness
- Act as the primary point of contact between internal teams, clients, contractors, and vendors throughout the commissioning process
- Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and documentation for each project phase, ensuring alignment with project objectives
- Perform system testing, start-ups, and operational verifications in line with project specifications and regulatory standards
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and document any technical issues during the commissioning process, ensuring minimal disruption to the project timeline
- Review design documentation and assist in the development of technical solutions during the design and pre-commissioning phases
- Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of installations, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Provide training and guidance to junior commissioning engineers and other technical staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
- Oversee the generation of commissioning reports, including the documentation of results, system adjustments, and operational validation
- Ensure all commissioning activities are completed on time and within budget, minimizing risks and maximizing efficiency
- Stay updated on the latest trends, standards, and technologies related to data centre commissioning and energy efficiency
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of experience in data center & building commissioning
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards (such as ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, TIA-942, etc.)as well as safety and regulatory requirements related to data centres
- Excellent communication, project management & problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
- PE Licensed is required
- Commissioning Certification (such as CxA or equivalent) is preferred
