In this role, the successful candidate supports department-wide data collection, analysis, distribution, governance, and strategic data initiatives. This position reports to the Manager of Data Analytics; and is responsible for database, dashboard, analytic, and data reporting support as well as conducting projects affiliated with all missions.
The role involves developing and managing databases, designing and managing data collection methods, statistical data analysis, creating reports, and data visualization to present to departmental leadership.Job Responsibilities:Extracts data from the medical centers data warehouse via Azure DatabricksCreates/maintains complex SQL codes and stored procedures that feed and refresh the data modelsConducts analysis by compiling data, managing data bases, analyzing data and presenting results in numerical and graphic formatsAssists department leadership in conducting process analysis, problem identification and root cause analysis, organization and environmental analysis and formulating recommendations for improvementAssists in coordinating and facilitating communication within the department to ensure consistent analytical approachesAssists in sharing of knowledge, best practices, and analytical approachesPlays an active role in providing data for operational improvementsVisualizes analytic insights and create dashboards with the use of Tableau for end stakeholders to use in decision-making and monitoring of performance.Manages and improves existing databases; develops programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting dataWorks with clinical, administrative and operational data, and be responsible for analyzing and presenting data; performing data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing requestsResearches new data sources and analytical tools/methodologies; contributes to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentationAssists leadership in developing Department of RadiologyProvides subject matter expertise in the area of data analyticsSupports department adherence to NYU Langone Health data related policies & proceduresServes as a liaison between the department and greater data science community both within NYU and at-largeStays up to date with data science technologies and/or best practicesPerforms additional duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Public Health, Computer or Systems Engineering or related field that further developed your expertise in the business of health and healthcare, required.1-2+ years of experience in writing complex SQL, including complex joins, subqueries, and aggregation, required.1+ years of data analytics experience using data visualization software such as Tableau Proven ability to create concise reports based upon specifications requested by management Excellent problem-solving skills, required.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced proficiency in ExcelAttention to detail, especially with regard to data visualization Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Public Health, Computer or Systems Engineering or related field that further developed your expertise in the business of health and healthcare.Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
