Duties:

- Work in the Dallas office, but handle litigation in multiple counties

- Litigate cases in court, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs

- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies

- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients

- Represent clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings

- Attend depositions, hearings, and trials

  • draft questions for depositions
  • defend clients in depositions
  • prepare arguments for hearings, pre-trial matters
  • draft questions for trial witnesses
  • draft pre-trial documents
  • serve as first or second chair in trial

- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the case

- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

- Admission to the Texas State Bar Association for more than 2 years

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent research and analytical abilities

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • manage daily tasks related to a litigation docket
  • manage and oversee a litigation calendar

- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

- Prior experience in litigation and negotiation is preferred

  • Litigation: 2 years plus (Required)
  • Deposition - defended and taken
  • Mediation - participated in
  • Hearings - Summary Judgment or Motion to Dismiss
  • Written discovery - drafted questions, objections and responses
  • Trial experience (a plus)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Required)
