Cytopathologist
Northwell Health is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Cytopathologist to join its central Anatomic Pathology Services practice. This role involves interpreting and reporting cytopathology specimens and contributing to the education of fellows and physicians-in-training. The position offers an opportunity to work within a robust health system covering Nassau and Suffolk Counties in Long Island and the Queens borough of New York City.

- Covers Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital
- Annual volume of cytology cases exceeded 243,000 in 2025
- 207,000 gynecologic cases, 25,000 non-gynecologic cases, and 11,000 FNA specimens
- Department has an ACGME-accredited Cytopathology fellowship program
- Surgical pathology subspecialty sign-out is available for interested and qualified candidates
Responsibilities
- Interpreting and reporting cytopathology specimens
- Serving as a faculty member of the Department of Anatomic Pathology
- Supporting the education of fellows and physicians-in-training
Compensation

Requirements
- Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Cytopathologist
- A strong academic background with demonstrated academic accomplishments is desirable
- Proficiency in performing FNA procedures with and without ultrasound guidance is preferred but not required
