Job PurposeIndividual will be responsible for programming, setting up and running Studer Cylindrical CNC grinders while maintaining production efficiencies. Must have good attention to detail and accustomed to working and measuring to close tolerance and delicate parts. Responsible for maintaining work quality and doing in process inspection while maintaining corporate values.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSetup and operating Studer CNC cylindrical grinder.
Including OD and ID grinding.Writing new programs to meet print requirements.Work must conform to exacting tolerances with allowances made for effects of temperature and aging of materials.Identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the grinding process, such as machine malfunctions or quality defects.Able to perform shop math and calculations as necessary to complete assigned tasks.Know different tooling to perform at maximum efficiencyFollow established company policiesOther duties as assignedMaintain a clean work environment and machine work areaRead process sheets and mechanical drawingsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED/Technical Training Certificate/Equivalent experienceWork experience: 2- 4 years in grindingProficient using Studer PictogrammingCould require intermittent long periods of sitting, standing and/or walkingPeriodic lifting of materials not to exceed 40 poundsAdvanced skill level cylindrical grindersCompetency using micrometers, indicators, height gage, air gaging of the likeWilling to work beyond normal hours if neededAn understanding of both Metric and English measuring systemsAbility to understand blueprintsAbility to hold dimensional, parallel, perpendicular, and flatness tolerancesAbility to true-up grinding wheelsWorking ConditionsGenerally working in production environment.Required exposure to industrial oils, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals.
